It's with heavy hearts we have decided to cancel this year's Potomac Hunt Races amid concerns over the coronavirus. It is not a decision we made lightly, but ultimately the health and safety of race goers is our top priority.
If you already purchased passes, vendor space, advertising, or any other type of sponsorship we will be reaching out to you shortly. You will have a few options. You can either request a refund, have us hold your reservation for next year, or consider donating the funds which will be shared with TAPS.
Committee members will be reaching out separately to every patron who has purchased anything. So please give us a little while to send all the emails. If you're unsure who your point of contact is, please visit our Contact page.
We appreciate your patience as it will take us a little time to figure out how to navigate these changes and to process the refunds. We sincerely hope we can count on your participation at the 2021 races. But more than anything we hope you stay healthy and safe!
Join us for a day of premier steeplechase racing at the Potomac Hunt Races. Held in the heart of Montgomery County's horse country, the Potomac Hunt Races is an annual tradition, celebrating the sport of steeplechase racing. Amidst the thrill of thundering hooves and soaring horses, race day festivities include a car display, mounted police demonstrations, The RBC Kid Zone, and Vendor Village. Enjoy the camaraderie of friends and colleagues, the beauty of nature, and the majesty of the equine athletes — all within the pristine rolling fields of the Kiplinger estate in Poolesville, Maryland.
There are three ways to access the races – Railside Parking, Premium Unreserved Parking Passes and Shuttle Passes. The Potomac Hunt Races also offers sponsorship tents (link) for companies wishing to entertain clients and/or employees.
Railside and Premium Unreserved tend to sell out and must be purchased in advance.
Offsite shuttle service is available for $10 cash per person over five. Five and under are free. Shuttle Transfer Passes can be purchased in advance or on race day at each parking lot. Shuttles run 9:45 AM – 6 PM, every 15 minutes.
The Races are made possible by the generosity of the Kiplinger family.
